Private Client Tax Semi Senior

Purpose of the role:

Working both autonomously and as part of an established team focusing on providing tax services to a variety of industry sectors. You will be client facing, show willingness to work as part of a team and be able to meet deadlines. You will also work towards attaining the ATT/ACCA/CTA qualification. Candidates applying for this role will be looking to continue to learn new skills and work with impressive clients from a wide range of industries to build upon already sound technical knowledge. We provide you with the ability to progress into complex work through the mentorship of a CTA qualified individual and provide the relevant study support.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • A mixed role with focus on private client taxation
  • Preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns and dealing with the compliance of tax processing
  • Calculation on Capital Gains Tax
  • Preparation of P11D Returns
  • Preparation of ATEDs
  • Basic accounts preparation work;
  • Liaising with clients in respect of their tax liabilities
  • Assisting with HM Revenue & Customs’ enquiries
  • Assisting with clients enquiries
  • Verbal and written contact with clients, HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties

In due course:

  • Fee quotation to billing the work
  • Proactively offering basic tax planning ideas and solutions for private clients
  • Holding client meetings

Duties may also include: 

  • Assistance with project management of client assignments – liaison with solicitors, financial advisers, other accountants and professionals and input into official filing/claims/elections 
  • Ad hoc assistance with internal administrative matters of the firm 
  • Other ad hoc assistance reasonably required in conjunction with the above matters generally

  • The ability to communicate well at all levels;
  • Flexibility and adaptability;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a high professional standard;
  • Computer literacy, with the ability to adapt to new systems; and
  • An understanding of Tax is desirable but not necessary as training and study support will be provided.
  • Studying for your professional qualification (ATT, ACCA or CTA)
  • Able to balance your workload with the pressures of studying for a professional qualification
