AJ Chambers are pleased to be partnered with a well-established, independent top 40 practice specialising in chartered accountancy and business advisory services. They serve a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK and internationally, with an emphasis on entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses. This particular role sits within their Cambridge Accountancy which supports owner-managed clients. You would have exposure to clients directly, working on accounting and tax matters from start to finish, and contributing meaningfully to client relationships.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Accounts Semi Senior / Senior, typical responsibilities include:

·        Taking ownership of moderate to large accounts preparation assignments

·        Preparing accompanying tax computations (corporation tax, personal tax, VAT)

·        Direct liaison with clients to resolve queries and propose sound solutions

·        Reviewing the work of junior staff before submission to managers

·        Coaching and mentoring junior team members

·        Controlling project timelines and ensuring assignments stay within budget

You will be integral to delivering high quality accounting and advisory services to a variety of clients (up to audit threshold turnover levels).

 

To be successful in this role, you should ideally have:

·        Started a recognized professional accounting qualification (part-qualified or a finalist in ACA / ACCA)

·        Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice preparing accounts

·        Up-to-date working knowledge of corporation tax, personal tax, VAT, and annual / management accounts

·        Client-facing experience, confident in direct communication with business owners

·        (Desirable) Experience in the leisure / tourism sector

·        (Desirable) Experience using software tools such as CaseWare, AlphaTax / Digita, Sage, Xero
