Role Summary

We are working with a well-established, independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers who are seeking an experienced Tax Semi-Senior to join their expanding Tax team based in Borehamwood.

The firm has built a strong reputation as a trusted adviser to entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, high net worth individuals, professional partnerships and expats. With roots in Elstree and an early focus on the media and entertainment industry, their portfolio has since grown to cover over 20 sectors.

This role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work with an exceptionally broad range of clients. You’ll play an integral part in delivering high-quality tax compliance services, liaising directly with clients and providing clear, professional advice with confidentiality and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, forms, and non-resident landlord returns.
• Prepare and review multi-property rental accounts.
• Assist in dealing with enquiries raised by HMRC.
• Prepare basic capital gains tax computations.
• Draft and amend correspondence for review and approval.
• Respond to client and third-party queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Prepare additional forms and submissions required by HMRC or other third parties.

Desirable Experience

• Studying towards ATT or CTA qualification or QBE.
• Solid understanding of taxation software and HMRC processes.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Capable of working autonomously while contributing to a wider team.
