Position: Personal Tax Senior/Assistant Manager
Location: St Albans
Salary: Up to £55,000 (DOE)
AJ Chambers are currently working with an impressive and highly successful advisory firm based in Hertfordshire, who are actively looking to hire a Personal Tax Senior/Assistant Manager for their growing, successful team.
What will you be doing?
- Your portfolio will range from high-net-worth individuals and families, business owners, doctors, professional practices, company directors, land and property owners, entrepreneurs, retirees, and family trusts. This means you will be offered a broad portfolio of work. You will be working in a small team environment where pro-active client solutions are encouraged.
- You will deal with a wide range of compliance matters including the preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates.
- You will be responsible for the completion of Capital Gains Tax returns, Inheritance Tax accounts and Trust Registration filing requirements.
- The role will include the handling of HM Revenue & Customs enquiries, remuneration planning and assisting with a variety of tax advisory projects.
- You will draw on your strong technical expertise to provide excellent front line client service to your portfolio, alongside reviewing self-assessment tax returns completed by other staff and assisting with their development of more junior staff.
- You will also be actively involved in business development activities.
What are the requirements?
- A minimum of 3 years recent practice experience within a personal tax role, or a mixed role including personal tax.
- You should hold or be studying towards the CTA qualification (or be qualified by experience). ICAEW, ACCA and or STEP qualifications would be beneficial.
- Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of private clients alongside reviewing self-assessment tax returns completed by other staff. Previous exposure to all aspects of Personal Tax compliance work within a professional services environment is essential.
