Management Accountant – Central London

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Management Accountant with solid bookkeeping experience to join our growing team. This role will involve preparing accurate and timely management accounts, overseeing client bookkeeping processes, and supporting clients with day-to-day finance operations. You will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver an excellent standard of service.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with practice experience who enjoys working with a range of clients and is comfortable managing full finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
- Perform bank reconciliations, manage accounts payable/receivable, and post journals
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant HMRC deadlines
- Liaise with clients to collect financial information and resolve queries
- Assist clients with cash flow reports, budgeting, and forecasting as needed
- Support year-end account preparation and handover to accounts or audit teams
- Contribute to improving internal systems and client reporting processes
Requirements
- AAT qualified or ACCA/CIMA part or fully qualified (qualified by experience also considered)
- Proven experience preparing management accounts and handling bookkeeping in a UK practice
- Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage)
- Solid understanding of VAT rules and reporting
- High attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and client-facing confidence
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships
