Semi-Senior/Senior Accountant – St Albans – Hybrid Working

We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in the St Albans area, Hertfordshire.

About the Role
As a Semi-Senior/Senior Accountant, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, providing them with a range of services tailored to their individual needs. You’ll play a key role in fostering relationships with your clients, gaining a deep understanding of their businesses, and supporting them to achieve their goals. Your responsibilities will include:

• Handling bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns for your clients.
• A mix of hands-on work and opportunities to review and oversee the work of others.
• Collaborating with colleagues to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in practice.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Proven ability to manage workloads and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word, with competent use of Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
• Part or fully ACA/ACCA qualified.
• Experience in both personal and corporate tax and accounting.

Working Hours and Benefits

• Monday – Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
• Hybrid working available, with up to two days working from home per week
• 20 days annual leave + bank holidays (plus Christmas shut down, which doesn’t come out of your annual leave entitlement)
• Free parking on-site
