We’re working with a progressive chartered accountancy practice in Milton Keynes that prides itself on delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services to SMEs. They’re now looking for an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their growing accounts team.

🌟 The Opportunity

This is a varied role with a strong focus on statutory accounts preparation, while still offering exposure to client advisory and cloud accounting projects. You’ll work closely with a diverse portfolio, develop your technical skills, and be supported to progress to Senior level.

Key responsibilities:

· Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders (FRS 102 and FRS 105)

· Drafting corporation tax computations to accompany year-end accounts

· Assisting with the preparation of management accounts where required

· Reviewing working papers and ensuring files are ready for Manager/Partner review

· Supporting clients with queries and building strong working relationships

· Assisting with cloud accounting software migrations and training (mainly Xero)

· Liaising with HMRC regarding VAT and other compliance matters

· Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate

✅ What We’re Looking For

· AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in practice, with strong statutory accounts experience

· Knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105 reporting standards

· Experience using Xero (certification desirable)

· Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines

· Proactive, organised and client-focused
