Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of private clients with a high degree of autonomy, reporting to senior leadership within the tax team.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and advisory support.
- Supervise, review, and support junior team members, ensuring high-quality delivery and effective workflow management.
- Prepare and/or review UK Self-Assessment tax returns, including:
- worldwide income reporting,
- foreign tax credit claims,
- complex disclosures,
- and interpretation of double tax treaties.
- Assist clients with HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and settlement matters.
- Provide advice on international and global mobility tax matters, including pre- and post-arrival UK tax planning.
- Advise clients on changes to UK personal tax legislation, including:
- non-domicile reforms,
- foreign income and gains regimes,
- temporary repatriation provisions,
- inheritance tax residence changes,
- and relevant reliefs affecting estates and property.
- Advise on property tax structuring and related planning considerations.
- Support trust, estate, and succession planning work in collaboration with internal specialist teams where appropriate.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including technical articles and marketing content.
Requirements
Qualifications
- ATT, CTA, ACA or equivalent qualification.
- Candidates may be part-qualified or fully qualified depending on level and experience.
Experience
- Approximately 3–4+ years’ experience in personal/private client tax.
- Experience within a private client-focused team or firm preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
- Strong relationship-building skills and commitment to delivering excellent client service.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues desirable.
