International Tax Assistant Manager / Manager

AJ Chambers are pleased to be partnered with an esteemed professional services firm that is seeking a skilled International Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join their dynamic tax advisory team. This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive advisory services to a diverse clientele, ranging from high-net-worth individuals to large corporations and not-for-profit entities. The position offers exposure to complex international tax matters, providing an excellent platform for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will lead advisory projects on international tax issues, including transfer pricing, permanent establishment, corporate residence, controlled foreign companies, anti-hybrid rules, withholding taxes, and interest restriction regimes.
  • You will ensure assignments progress efficiently, meeting commercial targets and quality standards.
  • Review client assignment files to ensure completeness and readiness for senior review.
  • You would mentor and motivate junior team members through effective communication and constructive feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration, referring clients to specialists as appropriate.
  • Maximize assignment recovery and recommend process improvements for enhanced efficiency.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • CTA qualified or nearing qualification (essential).
  • Proven experience in tax advisory for large and international corporates.
  • ACA qualification is desirable; ADIT qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in corporation tax compliance and/or tax audit.
  • Strong competence in assessing materiality and risk in client assignments.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work with minimal need for senior review.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to command respect from clients and colleagues alike.
