What will you be doing?
Would you like to be part of a growing and ambitious Private Client team based in London, working across a variety of interesting and complex clients with the support of colleagues across the wider business?
As an International Private Client Tax Manager you will manage a portfolio of clients, their families and associated offshore structures , working closely with Partners/Directors to deliver advisory and compliance services. The role will also include business development in respect of new and existing clients, and mentoring/developing team members.
As Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
- Managing a varied portfolio of personal tax clients with complex, internationally connected tax affairs
- Assisting Partners and Directors with, and when suitable, taking the lead on tax planning, including clients moving to and from the UK, succession planning and asset protection using trusts and/or corporate structures, as well as addressing capital gains and inheritance tax concerns
- Interacting with clients, family office teams, offshore trust and fiduciary company representatives
- Liaising with other service lines, for example business tax, valuations, business and accounting services, to provide an holistic service to clients
- Overseeing compliance and simple advisory tasks completed by junior staff members
- Maintaining strong relationships with intermediaries and supporting senior members of the team to identify opportunities for new work
- Developing the junior team, including providing timely feedback and assisting them with technical and personal development
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have
- Experience and knowledge of a variety of private client tax issues gained within another professional services firm but with particular experience in International matters, including but not limited to clients coming to the UK, leaving the UK, using the Foreign Income and Gains regime, advising on the Temporary Repatriation Facility and the Statutory Residence Test
- Proven technical knowledge and ability to communicate messages to clients and intermediaries
- Demonstrable experience in tax planning/advisory projects as well as managing complex compliance issues.
- People management and organisational experience
- Appetite for growth and enhancement of business development skills
Professional Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Tax Adviser (preferred) and/or Chartered Accountant CTA/ACA.
