We have ambitious plans to expand our business. To support the organisation’s growth, we have created a new opportunity for a Corporate Tax Director/Partner to join our Corporate Tax Team in either our London or regional offices. This is a permanent full-time role with hybrid working options.

The Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the delivery of complex corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a varied client portfolio (including SMEs, large corporates, and international groups)
  • Provide strategic tax planning and technical advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax efficiency and risk mitigation
  • Lead and review large and technically challenging assignments such as restructures, mergers, acquisitions, and international tax matters
  • Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals, supporting their technical development and performance management
  • Review and sign off corporate tax computations and returns prepared by the team, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with legislation
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for tax queries and strategic discussions
  • Work closely with Partners and other service lines (Audit, Accounts, Private Client, VAT, etc.) to deliver a joined-up approach to client service
  • Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client pitches
  • Keep up to date with tax legislation and HMRC developments, sharing knowledge with the wider tax team
  • Contribute to the firm’s overall tax strategy, growth plans, and departmental profitability

About You

  • CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in corporate tax within a regional or mid-tier accountancy firm environment
  • Strong background in advising owner-managed businesses (OMBs), family-run companies, and mid-market corporates
  • Experience of working with multinational groups and international tax matters
  • Proven ability to manage both compliance portfolios and advisory assignments, such as restructuring, share schemes, R&D tax relief, and business sales/acquisitions
  • Experience in leading client engagements from proposal through to delivery, with a focus on practical, commercially relevant tax solutions
  • Confident working with partners and other departments to deliver a joined-up service across the firm
  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and related business tax areas
  • Commercially minded with the ability to translate technical advice into clear, actionable recommendations for entrepreneurial clients
  • Strong client relationship skills — approachable, credible, and able to build long-term trusted adviser relationships
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, coaching, and developing junior team members
  • Organised and adaptable, able to balance a broad portfolio of clients and meet tight deadlines
  • Collaborative approach, working closely with other service lines (Accounts, Audit, VAT, and Private Client) to add value to clients
  • Confident in networking and business development, with the ability to identify and convert new opportunities
  • Professional and personable, with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — keen to help grow the firm’s corporate tax offering regionally
  • Pragmatic and solution-focused, with a hands-on approach to client service
  • Resilient under pressure and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, partner-led environment
  • Committed to continuous improvement and staying up to date with tax and business developments
