Corporate & Business Tax Assistant Manager

Location: Rickmansworth / Milton Keynes (hybrid working considered, firm-wide)

Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE)

AJ Chambers are working with a highly respected, independent UK accountancy firm, proudly ranked among the top 40 in the sector and recognised in the top 20 for private client tax and financial planning services. They’re seeking a Corporate & Business Tax Assistant Manager to join their thriving taxation team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of small to medium-sized entities—companies, partnerships, sole traders, and individual directors—alongside trainees and supported by senior team members.
• Lead the end-to-end compliance process: finalise and submit company tax returns (including statutory accounts adjustments), prepare and review income tax computations and returns, and handle personal tax submissions.
• Manage P11Ds, PSAs, CIS returns, and ERS submissions.
• Serve as the first point of contact for clients, addressing compliance queries and liaising with HMRC on factual-based enquiries.
• Mentor, train, and develop junior colleagues within the team.

What You Bring:

• 3–4 years’ experience in a tax practice.
• Solid technical understanding of corporate and personal tax legislation with an ability to apply this in practice.
• A proactive, organised, and client-oriented approach, with the ability to manage your own time, budgets, and client relationships effectively.
• Strong communicator and collaborator, capable of working independently and as part of a dynamic team.
