Role Description

I’m working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Bury St Edmunds that is looking to strengthen its Audit Team with the addition of an Accounts & Audit Manager.

The role offers a varied split across audit, accounts and specialist assignments, working with a diverse client base ranging from SMEs through to large groups, international clients, charities and more complex, niche engagements.

What you’ll do

·        Manage a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of delivery and relationships

·        Liaise with the in-charge auditors on your portfolio to ensure they’re on track

·        Oversee accounts preparation and compliance work

·        Work across a wide variety of clients including corporates, charities and specialist assignments

·        Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing a high-quality and tailored service

·        Review work and ensure files are ready for Partner review

·        Mentor and develop junior staff

·        Support ongoing process improvements and team development

What you’ll need

·        ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience)

·        Strong UK practice experience across audit and accounts

·        Experience managing a client portfolio

·        Previous staff management or mentoring experience

·        Exposure to SME clients under FRS102 (for audit-focused candidates)
