Our client is a small, growing, independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Finchley, North London, with a strong reputation for providing high-quality audit, accounts, and advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, charities, and not-for-profit organisations.

The Role:

We are looking for an ambitious Semi Senior or Senior Auditor to join our team. The role offers a 70% audit and 30% accounts mix, providing exposure to a variety of sectors and the opportunity to develop both audit and general practice skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist on statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion, reporting directly to managers or partners.
  • Prepare financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders under UK GAAP / FRS 102.
  • Supervise, support, and review the work of junior team members on audit and accounts jobs.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a point of contact on assignments.
  • Identify audit issues and risks, and propose solutions.
  • Assist with ad hoc assignments such as corporation tax computations, management accounts, and business advisory work.

Person Specification:

  • ACA / ACCA part-qualified, finalist, or newly qualified (for Semi Senior) OR fully qualified (for Senior).
  • At least 2–4 years’ experience in practice with strong audit exposure.
  • Confident in accounts preparation and knowledge of FRS 102.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively across multiple jobs.
  • Experience with audit and accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, CCH, Xero, Sage) is an advantage.
