Patent Litigation Associate

AJ Chambers are thrilled to be working with a leading global litigation firm is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate to join its highly regarded intellectual property practice. The firm is one of the world's largest litigation only firms and is particularly renowned for its patent litigation work.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong technical background to work on sophisticated, high value disputes involving some of the world's leading technology and life sciences companies.

Must Haves

• 2-6 years of patent litigation experience at a strong law firm
• JD from a T14 or strong national law school
• Strong undergraduate or graduate STEM degree, ideally:
  • Computer Science
  • Electrical Engineering
• Substantive experience in patent litigation
• Experience with district court, ITC Section 337 and/or PTAB proceedings
• Experience with claim construction / Markman briefing
• Experience handling discovery and dispositive motion practice
• Excellent legal writing skills
• Strong technical fluency and ability to understand complex technologies
• Top law school academic credentials
• Active bar in either Texas, or California
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a lean, highly autonomous environment

Nice to Have

• Trial team experience
• Deposition experience, particularly expert depositions
• Stand-up/oral advocacy experience
• Federal Circuit experience
• Pharma / Hatch-Waxman patent litigation
• Advanced STEM degree, such as an MS or PhD
• USPTO registration / patent bar admission
• Experience with:
  • Semiconductors
  • Computer architecture
  • Wireless / cellular technology
  • Software
  • Life sciences
  • Pharmaceuticals

Compensation & Benefits

• $225,000-$435,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications
• Discretionary annual bonus
• No formal billable-hour requirement
• Minimum bonus tier based on approximately 1,800 hours
• Full-time position
• Hybrid/flexible working arrangement, with candidates expected to be local to an office
