Commercial Property Solicitor

AJ Chambers are currently working with a London based law firm to recruit for a 2 year+ PQE Commercial Property Solicitor to join the team in their Harrow office.

The work involves acting almost exclusively for companies on both commercial and residential investment properties including HMO’s, mixed use and new-builds acting both solely for lenders or borrowers, dual instructions acting for both the lender and the borrower, acting on general commercial property, including purchases, sales, auctions and general landlord and tenant work.

My client is on the panels for almost all the residential lenders and also on the panels for a number of banks, bridging finance companies and the restricted company panels of 3 well known investment lenders. They are a very busy department with no shortage of work and with great opportunities to obtain further work as most investment companies have portfolios of properties and deal with both residential and commercial properties.

You will also be exposed to speciality brokers giving you a unique opportunity to build relationships and establish your own following. The department is supported by five paralegals who deal with the work involved in preparing for completion, such as carrying out the pre-completion searches, preparing completion statements and SDLT forms, as well as all post completion work, including registration at Companies House, and at the Land Registry.

All the paralegals have a legal qualification. There is also an office Junior who can assist with downloading auction packs, creating data rooms et cetera.

You will be expected to able to work under pressure and to keep to deadlines. You will also be expected to identify the relevant legal principles and apply them accurately to matters under your control.

The department works as a team and will provide cover when you are ill or on holiday as well as support where you need assistance whether due to pressure of work or where the matter is outside your level of expertise.
