Accounts Assistant Manager

Burton on Trent | £40,000 – £50,000 | Hybrid Working | Client-Facing Role

We’re working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice with a diverse and loyal client base. They are now looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant Manager to join their growing team and support a broad portfolio of clients, spanning sectors such as agriculture, tech, property, and more.

The Role:

As Accounts Assistant Manager, you’ll work across a mixed portfolio of clients, from limited companies and partnerships to landlords and private clients, delivering a wide range of accounting and tax services. You’ll manage workflows, support junior team members, and play a key role in ensuring client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

· Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders

· Handling corporation tax and rental property tax returns

· Preparation of management accounts and reporting for clients across various sectors

· Supporting and reviewing the work of junior staff and trainees

· Building and maintaining strong client relationships

· Attending client sites where needed (flexibility required)

· Supporting partners and managers in delivering a high-quality, timely service

About You:

· ACA or ACCA qualified

· Experience in a UK accountancy practice

· Comfortable managing a varied workload and a diverse client base

· Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance

· Personable, confident communicator who enjoys client interaction

· Capable of supervising or mentoring junior team members

· Flexible approach to working, including some on-site client work
