Deal Advisory Tax Senior Manager – Private Equity & Credit
The Opportunity
Our client is a leading professional services firm with a highly regarded Deal Advisory Tax team. They are recognised for delivering commercially focused tax advice on complex transactions and have built a collaborative, inclusive culture where ambitious professionals can develop their careers.
The Deal Advisory Tax team works with a broad range of corporate and financial investor clients, providing strategic tax advice across the transaction lifecycle.
Within the team sits a specialist Private Equity & Credit practice, advising large and mid-market private equity houses, credit funds and other financial investors on a wide variety of transactions including:
- Buy-side tax due diligence
- Acquisition structuring
- Vendor due diligence and sell-side support
- Refinancing transactions
- Corporate restructurings
- Listing and exit support
The team has advised on many high-profile transactions, helping clients identify historical tax risks, optimise transaction structures, assess tax implications within financial models and ensure tax considerations are appropriately reflected within legal documentation. Many projects involve cross-border elements, requiring close collaboration with international tax specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Partners and Directors on complex domestic and international transactions.
- Deliver commercially focused tax advice to private equity, credit and corporate clients.
- Support business development initiatives, including preparing proposals and participating in client pitches.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, legal advisers and other professional advisers.
- Act as a key point of contact throughout live transactions to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
- Prepare and review detailed technical advice covering UK and international tax matters.
- Analyse tax due diligence reports, financial information and transaction documentation, identifying key risks and commercial implications.
- Collaborate with UK and overseas tax specialists, reviewing and challenging technical input where appropriate.
- Keep up to date with UK tax legislation, OECD developments and wider market trends.
- Review financial models from a tax perspective.
- Contribute to technical publications, thought leadership and wider team development.
- Mentor, coach and support the development of junior team members.
About You
- CTA, ACA, CA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong UK corporate tax knowledge with an interest in transaction work.
- Previous experience within Deal Advisory Tax, Transaction Tax or M&A Tax.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven relationship-building skills with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience coaching and developing junior colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
