AJ Chambers are assisting a top International Law Firm with the hire of a New Events Manager.
The Events Manager leads the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a firm-wide events programme, supporting Business Development teams and fee earners. The role manages a team of three and oversees a diverse calendar of UK and international events, including conferences, seminars, webinars, client dinners, hospitality events, and partner conferences
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an annual events strategy aligned with business and client development goals
- Lead the planning and execution of high-profile and complex events, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to a high standard
- Manage event communications, invitations, attendee engagement, and post-event follow-up
- Oversee event budgets, supplier relationships, payments, and cost control
- Use CRM and email marketing systems (InterAction and Vuture) to manage invitations, attendee data, and reporting
- Measure event effectiveness through attendance, engagement, ROI, and feedback analysis
- Maintain event records, calendars, best-practice guidelines, and filing systems
- Collaborate with Marketing and BD teams globally and support webinars and podcast
- Manage conference attendance, hospitality activities, and external partnerships
- Mentor and manage two Events Executives and one Events Assistant
- Stay informed on industry trends, event technology, and best practices
Skills & Experience
- Proven event management experience, including planning, budgeting, delivery, reporting, and on-site management
- Strong team leadership and people management skills
- Experience delivering events within a professional services environment
- Excellent project management, communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills
Working Pattern
- Core hours: 9:30am–5:30pm, with flexibility required for out-of-hours events
- Office-based 3 days per week, aligned with the events schedule
