Role Overview
A leading professional services firm is seeking a Transfer Pricing Associate / Assistant Manager to support a growing Financial Services tax practice. The role involves advising a broad portfolio of FS clients, including banking, asset management, insurance, fintech and wider regulated financial institutions, on transfer pricing matters across domestic and international operations.
The successful candidate will work on complex cross-border projects, helping clients manage transfer pricing compliance, governance and tax risk in an evolving regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships across the financial services sector
- Working with clients to understand business models, operating structures, value chains and key profit drivers
- Analysing industry-specific factors that influence intercompany pricing arrangements within regulated FS environments
- Performing economic and benchmarking analyses across a range of transaction types, including financing, treasury, asset management and service arrangements
- Supporting the design, implementation and documentation of transfer pricing policies aligned to global tax and regulatory requirements
- Drafting transfer pricing documentation and supporting global compliance programmes across multiple jurisdictions
- Assisting clients with tax authority enquiries, dispute resolution matters and Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs)
- Coordinating with wider tax, regulatory and advisory teams on international tax, indirect tax and broader FS-related matters
- Managing workstreams, supporting project delivery and coaching junior team members
- Contributing to business development initiatives, proposals and thought leadership within the FS tax market
Candidate Profile
Applicants are expected to demonstrate the following experience and capabilities:
- Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent, or a degree in economics, finance, accounting, law or a related discipline
- Experience in transfer pricing within a professional services or in-house tax environment, ideally with exposure to financial services clients
- Strong understanding of transfer pricing documentation, benchmarking methodologies and value chain analysis
- Experience supporting tax authority enquiries, APAs and international documentation projects
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the regulatory and risk considerations impacting FS organisations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess technical and commercial issues effectively
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver work across cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management capability
- Enthusiastic and collaborative approach, with an interest in developing technical specialism within Financial Services tax advisory
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members would be advantageous
