Overview
An established and growing accountancy and advisory firm is seeking a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join its expanding tax team. The firm provides tax, accounting, and consulting services to a diverse client base, including corporate organisations, media professionals, investors, and owner-managed businesses.

Hybrid Working:
- During probation: Full-time office-based
- Post-probation: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
The Team
The tax department includes specialists across:
- Personal Tax
- Corporate Tax
- Payroll

The Role
You will manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients and support both compliance and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of ~150 personal tax clients (including high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and business owners)
- Prepare and review personal tax returns
- Handle HMRC enquiries and disclosures
- Liaise directly with clients and HMRC on tax matters
- Support Making Tax Digital (MTD) quarterly reporting
- Prepare and file P11Ds
- Complete Capital Gains Tax returns for UK property disposals
- Gather and analyse financial and personal data
- Assist with advisory projects (e.g. residence status, CGT planning, inheritance tax, trusts)
- Monitor workflow and meet deadlines
- Keep up to date with tax legislation changes and communicate impacts
- Maintain strong client communication
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- CTA qualified
- Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience
- At least 4 years’ experience in personal tax
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using personal tax software
Desirable
- Experience with CCH Personal Tax software
- Awareness of:
- Residence and domicile issues
- Foreign Income & Gains regime
- Trust structures and compliance
