Helen Lovering has over 20 years of experience working in recruitment, all within financial services, across the Sydney, Singapore and London markets. She has spent the last nine years as Director working for a large international agency overseas, returning to the UK in 2023. After working in London, she joined AJ Chambers in 2024, heading up the London public practice team. Helen has built and led teams and enjoys the relationship management part of her role.
Key responsibilities at AJ Chambers
I lead the London Practice Team, which covers Audit, Accounting, Tax with my personal professional focus being on Corporate Finance. We work with accountancy practices in London, the Home Counties and the South East to help build their teams, focusing on all seniorities, from Associate through to Partner level.
Goals for next 6 months
My main goal is to maintain and build our client relationships, to support them in finding the best talent for their teams. I’d also like to look at areas where we can grow within the business and where we can add value within AJ Chambers.
Communication and work styles
I pride myself on having an open and collaborative communication style. During my career I’ve built very strong relationships with colleagues, from when they’ve joined as a junior consultant through to becoming a Principal or Manager. Some of them have invited me to their weddings and I’m still in touch with most, even though we no longer work together. I do believe in having a work family and that’s what I class my team as.

I was referred to AJ Chambers by two separate people and two people that I respect and trust. One was a close friend and somebody I went to school with, who knows Andy Hilliard from AJ Chambers. He put us in touch. The other is my brother-in-law, who works for one of our regional clients. Both of them gave AJ Chambers very good reviews, and from different perspectives. One from a client side and one from somebody who had worked within the business.
My bucket list
- Now I’m living back in the UK, I really want to be able to see our sea and own an apartment with a sea view or of the coast.
- I would love to drive to Spain with my dog, via the wineries in France, and then go to my parents place in Spain.
- Get a second puppy, but I need to get the garden and sea view first!
