AJ Chamber are currently recruiting for a VAT Manager to join a highly impressive Mid-tier firm\'s London office

You will be joining a large team of tax experts, in a firm that is well renowned for their excellent Tax work. Throughout the company, they believe in promotion on merit, rather than waiting for a position to become available. Therefore for the right person, fast progression is realistic.

You will be working in the VAT team, with the vast majority of your work being concentrated on andvisory work, with minimal compliance. Your portfolio will cover a vast array of Tax technical issues, and will be a great opportunity to get involved in more complex work.

VAT Manager Duties:

Taxation - Personal Tax Supervisor

You will be joining a professional, and reputable firm, that has clear structure and realistic opportunity for fast progression. You will be initially starting at supervisor level, however if you hit the ground running, you will be able to move into a management position within 6 £" 12 months.

Your portfolio will be a real mix of UHNWI\'s, HNWI\'s, Politicians, TV personalities, Sports professionals and various other high profile clients. You will not be restricted or pigeonholed in the kind of work you can carry out, but will be encouraged to be a general expert for your private clients.

Private Client Tax Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Working within the private client department assisting with client issues
  • Preparation of tax returns
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff

AJ Chambers are currently seeking a Tax Technology Senior Associate to Join a Top 10 Firm\'s London Office

This will be a project based role. You will be responsible for matters in relation to the sale, management and delivery of tax technology work to your assigned portfolio.

You will work directly with both partners and directors and will assist with the management of the team. As a result, this is a great opportunity to build a reputation within the firm.

Tax Technology Senior Associate duties will include:

  • To take responsibility for the delivery of tax technology services on all projects for your client portfolio
  • To manage a portfolio of clients
  • Assisting in the management of the team
  • To review work prepared by more junior members of staff
  • To assist in the training and development of junior members of staff
  • To liaise with relevant technology firms and HMRC
  • To ensure work is completed within budget and projected timescales

Accounts - Tax Accountant (Manager)

£45,000 - £60,000

AJ Chambers are seeking a CTA qualified Accountant to work in a medium-sized firm\'s North London office

This role will include both tax work, as well as some accounts. Experience in both areas will be needed for success in this role.

This is not your standard compliance role, as there will be a significant amount of advisory work available.

Tax Accountant Responsibilities

  • Advise in meetings and in writing as to courses of action available to clients in respect of UK tax. This includes corporate taxes (Corporation Tax / VAT / ATED / SDLT) but also private client taxes (Income Tax / Inheritance Tax / Trusts etc)
  • Prepare, finalise and review Accounts and Corporation Tax Returns for UK based and offshore clients re UK tax
  • To research taxation related technical matters and advise in writing or in conversations. An experience with reading primary and secondary legislation would be useful
  • Corporate restructuring (mergers / demergers / share sales or purchase / group transactions)
  • Private Client and IHT planning including the use of Trusts
  • To manage and review a more junior member of staff\'s work in respect of all of the above.

Tax Accountant Requirements:

  • 4 or 5 years post-examination (CTA) experience is preferred
  • Experience with responsibilities listed above
  • Effective communicator
