£45,000 - £52,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity for an Audit and Accounts Senior to join a well-established mid-tier Practice based in the heart of London. The firm have developed a specialism within the media and music sector but have a wide variety of clients which also include property, retail, sports and the professional services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The split of the role will be approximately 50% Audit, 50% Accounts
  • Working on a diverse portfolio of clients including LLPs, partnerships, sole traders and SME’s.
  • Acting as on site Senior; planning, executing and completing Audit work to the required standard.
  • Taking responsibility for each Audit assignment, completing within agreed timescale with the support of the Manager/Partner.
  • Preparing accounts from client records.
  • Preparing draft tax computations.
  • Working regularly with junior members of staff including training, delegating and reviewing work.
  • Dealing with queries from clients.
  • Ad hoc assignments as necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

  • ACA or ACCA qualified - either newly qualified or with 1-2 years PQE
  • Experience working in a mixed Audit and Accounts role and leading on Audits
  • Good time management and ability to work to deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate ability to supervise small team

Payroll - Payroll Assistant

£28,000 - £35,000 per annum

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processing monthly payroll, auto-enrolment and advising clients of amounts to pay
  • Logging starters and leavers onto the payroll software
  • Corresponding with client regarding their PAYE/NIC and Net wages payments
  • Changing tax codes
  • Dealing with SMP and SSP calculations
  • Handling P60’s and pay slips
  • Dealing with queries regarding payroll, via phone and email
  • Checking pay slips, starter details, sickness, leavers and maternity calculations
  • Creating and updating trackers/checklists

The Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years Payroll experience in an UK based Accountancy Practice or Bureau setting
  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Prior experience using STAR Payroll software would be beneficial

The role is within their Outsourced Finance team, looking after the day to day accounting for a number of clients and delivering the highest quality professional services possible.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Record day to day financial transactions in Xero
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are performed, including current accounts as well as any petty cash and credit card accounts
  • Proactively managing sales & purchase ledger balances
  • Maintaining records to the trial balance stage, including managing and reconciling control accounts and month-end journals
  • Agree timelines directly with clients & ensure work is completed within these agreed deadlines
  • To produce management accounts to a very high standard
  • Produce VAT returns
  • Preparation and submission of annual P11D’s
  • Keep up to date with changing VAT and accounting knowledge
  • Liaise with the support team to book courses/webinars/etc. for personal development;
  • Collaborating with other departments in the firm concerning accounts preparation, corporation tax and personal tax

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The split in the role is around 75% Accounts and 25% Audit
  • Prepare, deliver statutory accounts and filing of corporation tax
  • Communication with clients and to make sure work is completed in a satisfactory and timely manner
  • To prepare larger non-audit accounts (LLPs and limited companies) for review directly by a portfolio holder
  • To deliver statutory accounts – FRS 102 accounting standard
  • Filing of corporation tax returns (reviewed by Tax Department)
  • Carry out ad hoc Audit tasks by themselves (e.g. stock counts, client money audits etc.)
  • Assist senior staff on larger more complex accounts and audit assignments
  • Manage smaller less complex audit assignments

The Ideal Candidate

  • ACA/ACCA Part Qualified or AAT fully Qualified
  • 2-3 years+ experience working in a small to medium-sized accountancy practice
  • Knowledge of CCH, Pro Audit, Virtual Cabinet, or any other accounting software’s would be beneficial
  • Motivated team player, able to effectively organise your workload in line with Managers instructions and deadlines

£40,000 - £50,000 pro rata

Our client, one of Harrows leading Accountancy Practice firms, are seeking an Audit Senior to join them on a 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for further extension or a permanent role if desired upon completion

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The role is 100% Audit focused
  • Responsibility for a portfolio of clients, all communication with those clients and to make sure that work is completed in a satisfactory and timely manner
  • Planning, execution and finalisation of all areas of the audit assignment and statutory reporting under FRS 102               
  • Budgeting and monitoring progress against budget
  • Manage and coach a small team of semi seniors assisting in audit assignments
  • Produce work for the Audit Manager or Partner review clearly highlighting issues and providing potential solutions
  • Direct communication with the client

The Ideal Candidate

  • ACA/ACCA qualified, with 2-3 years’ of practice experience of which is at least 1 year is leading audits
  • Knowledge of CCH Accounts & CCH Pro-Audit Software and Virtual Cabinet (Document management system)
  • Good communicator as client liaison is very important
  • Good Audit knowledge including a grasp of current audit standards
  • Experience managing own portfolio
  • Able to lead audit from planning to completion unsupervised
  • Experience of managing a small audit team
