A highly reputable Private Client Tax specialist practice are seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join their growing team.

The firm is a close knit team with over fifty years of private client tax experience. They offer a great deal of flexibility and agile working, within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The role

  • Personal Tax advisory and compliance work in both a reviewers and preparers capacity dependent upon the nature of the work.
  • There is scope to adapt this role to a more senior technical advisory position for the appropriately skilled and experienced applicant.

Accounts Manager

A top 100 firm of accountants based in Oxford are currently looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join their rapidly expanding team. About the Accounts Manager role:

Reporting to a Partner, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Build long lasting client relationships - develop and apply your technical and commercial knowledge to provide expert advice and exceed client expectations
  • Support a number of Directors by managing a diverse portfolio of clients and often being their primary point of contact. Your portfolio will consist of both new and more established clients and you will be encouraged to develop further revenue streams within it as well as helping to bring in new clients to the firm.
  • Ensure assignments are completed to a high standard, on time and within budgets agreed with Directors
  • Work collaboratively with other Managers and the Directors to ensure quality of output and efficiency in process across the wider accounts team
  • Prepare and review working papers, statutory accounts and management accounts for a wide range of business entities across many sectors
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns
  • Line manage more junior staff, overseeing their work and assisting them with their career development
  • Assist with billing
  • Manage own workload in a timely and efficient manner
  • Support the practice in continuously improving our way of working including and adopting new technology

Taxation - Private Client Tax Assistant Manager

Private Client Tax Assistant Manager

An award winning Top 20 firm seeking to grow their Private Client Tax department with the addition of an Assistant Manager. This is a key position and forms part of the wider Tax service we offer our clients.

The purpose of this role is to manage a portfolio of personal tax returns. There will be a requirement to prepare complex personal tax returns, and review simpler tax returns prepared by junior members of the team. You will be the primary point of contact for the majority of the clients in their portfolio.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring key deadlines are met
  • Preparing complex personal tax returns
  • Reviewing simple tax returns prepared by junior team members
  • Identify advisory opportunities to refer to members of the advisory team.
  • Assist with wider compliance obligations of the tax team
  • Manage client relationships
  • Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required

The Person:

  • Ideally ATT and CTA qualified
  • Experience of managing the annual compliance cycle
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and provide excellent client care
  • Demonstrable experience of working with complex tax returns
  • Working with SME clients at a mid-tier UK accounting firm
  • Good technical tax knowledge and experience in preparing complex personal tax returns
  • Proven experience in managing a large compliance portfolio
  • Ideally would have experience of dealing with non-dom and non-resident personal tax clients

A leading Chartered Accountancy firm based in Gerrards Cross where an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Tax Manager to work in a growing, innovative and friendly environment.

The role is primarily managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing the personal tax compliance and advisory to HNW's, Company Directors etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Looking after a mixed portfolio of personal tax clients and trusts
  • Managing the delivery of compliance work

Tax Senior/Manager

You would be working within an established Chartered Accountancy, with 5 partners and 65 staff. Our client base includes a significant number of owner-managed businesses including partnerships, sole traders and private companies as well as private clients and high net worth individuals.

We are a friendly and sociable firm, within a lovely location running alongside the river.

We are based in the centre of this beautiful town, with its castle, cobbled streets, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. There are also many retail franchises with their shops here, and boutiques.

Main objective: to hold a dual role covering personal tax and corporate tax.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • The individual's skills should extend to full portfolio management and acting as the primary contact for clients, dealing with ad-hoc technical issues as they arise and spotting any planning opportunities relevant to the client
  • Correspondence (written and verbal) with clients, HMRC and other third parties
  • Preparation of P11ds, PSAs and other end of year returns
  • Assisting managers and partners with ad hoc planning and advisory projects
  • Reviewing the tax work of more junior team members and assisting with technical queries from the team as they arise
  • Dealing with HMRC enquiries for individuals
  • Dealing with all types of Corporate and Personal taxes as required i.e. Capital gains tax, Inheritance tax, National Insurance, Corporation Tax, Capital allowances, Income Tax, Trust taxation, Employee taxation, Overseas issues and minor VAT issues
  • Dealing with any internal staff queries arising on procedural and technical matters.
  • Contributing to the identification of technical areas and changes to legislation that are relevant to the Tax Department and also to the accounts and audit department, as required. Identifying particular areas which should be brought to client attention.
  • Working closely with the Tax Managers and Tax Partner to ensure the Tax Department is at the forefront of Tax Compliance and planning matters
  • Dealing with corporation tax compliance matters such as reviewing computations and advisory work.
  • Dealing with ad-hoc advisory matters.

Desirable experience:

  • CTA qualified individual. Other relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience with corporation tax compliance and managing a personal tax portfolio.
  • Advisory experience covering topics such as EIS, EMI, R & D, succession planning and remuneration planning

The successful candidate will be responsible for their own portfolio of clients, as well as supporting other members of our 10-strong tax team. They will be expected to work without the need for constant supervision and to show initiative in dealing with clients' affairs.

It is likely that the successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years' current experience of working with tax compliance and preferably have gained some experience of working in the tax department of an accountancy practice.
