James has 8 years Banking Experience at Coutts Bank within the Media Commercial Team, responsible for a portfolio of successful business' in music, theatre, PR and talent management. Within his time at Coutts James forged solid working relationships with Partners of Accountancy Practices working closely with them on many complex lending facilities, IP acquisitions and M&A transactions.

Following James' time at Coutts, due to his experience and trustworthy reputation James consulted/assisted HNW individuals and other commercial business' on various transactions globally (off market property, investment in film, sponsorship for events, and acquisitions to name a few, as a trusted individual.

Within AJ Chambers his focus is business growth for the West Midlands and further North across Audit, Accounts and Outsourcing. In addition to recruitment requirements, James is also responsible for M&A consultancy within AJ Chambers, assisting our clients identify and locate acquisition targets in line with their growth strategy, whilst supporting clients through the entire purchase process involved in acquiring a practice. An opportunity has arisen for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join a small, established, independent accountancy practice in Manchester. As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for leading audits on a varied portfolio of clients, supervising Juniors, Semi Seniors and the wider Audit team. You will be ACA/ACCA Qualified, willing to travel and have previous experience within a similar role.

Key Responsibilities of an Audit Manager:

  • Planning Audits and identifying key risk areas.
  • Ability to ensure that all statutory requirements are complied with, and up to date technical knowledge.
  • Ability to ensure that client deadlines are met and to budget.
  • Experience of working on more complex aspects of audits.
  • Building strong client relationships and being a point of contact on advice for structuring, systems as well as source of relevant information.
  • Supervising the audit process on site, supporting and managing Audit Team in collaboration with Audit Director and Audit Partner, supporting and developing more junior members of staff.
  • Suggest improvements for audit efficiency and general process internally.

Essential Skills and Experience for this Audit Assistant Manager role:

  • Well-rounded knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles
  • Experience working on Academy and Charity Audits.
