You will be providing an exceptional level of client service, tailored to individual priorities, for a firm with a long-standing reputation and clients across the globe, from household names to start-ups, international families, high net-worth and prominent individuals. The Immigration group advise on all aspects of UK immigration law, and this role in particular will focus specifically on business immigration.

The Role

The responsibilities of this include (but are not limited to):

  • Advising re. non UK nationals working in the UK;
  • Advising employers on sponsoring non UK nationals, including applying for and maintaining a sponsor licence;
  • Advising individuals entering or remaining in the UK under the various business immigration routes and assisting with the relevant applications;
  • Advising re. temporary work in the UK;
  • Advising re. scope of the visitor rules including permitted activities of a business visitor;
  • Assisting with connected applications for families and dependents and also advising individuals in respect of settlement and British citizenship.

The successful candidate would be expected to advise businesses and individuals in respect of various immigration visa routes, such as skilled worker, global business mobility, scale up, graduate visas etc.

  • Thorough understanding of the Immigration Rules and the Home Office - s sponsor guidance.
  • Willingness to take responsibility for tasks when appropriate but also able to follow direction competently and efficiently.

You will be taking on the full process of advising clients, operating in a variety of sectors on a diverse range of corporate matters, but with a main focus on private company M&A and private equity. AJ Chambers is delighted to be working with a Silver Circle firm who are seeking a highly knowledgeable and well-rounded corporate private equity associate to join their London team. The team has several hundred fee earners and business professionals, and works across six key sectors; consumer goods/retail, energy mining/infrastructure, financial institutions, healthcare, industrials/manufacturing/transportation, and technology/telecoms. The team collaborates internationally, connecting with a multitude of markets and industries. Clients include nearly all of the largest global public companies, and more than 75% of the Fortune 500.

The private equity team is a crucial element to the corporate department, advising on complex PE funds matters, acquisitions (public and private), corporate governance support, divestments, typically with a cross-border dimension. There are regular opportunities for secondments with clients, and transfer to other offices under the firm’s associate transfer program is also a possibility.

The Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
