    Payroll Administrator OR Payroll Senior - Responsibilities

    Processing payroll information and maintaining accuracy and integrity of data for a variety of clients that differ in size, complexity and industry sector Ability to handle queries and liaise effectively with management and clients direct when required Keep up to date with payroll legislation changes as well as any other changes affecting payroll processing Experience with auto-enrolment and associated responsibilities Processing CIS returns

    The Candidate

    Between 1-5 years of payroll bureau or public practice experience would be ideal You will be computer literate and able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required as you will be dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels Ability to work to strict deadlines Knowledge of either STAR, Sage or Xero would be beneficial but not essential

    AJ Chambers are working with a leading independent firm of chartered accountants that are looking to appoint an Audit Senior who will progress to Assistant Manager within 12 months. If you are able to in charge audit projects and review work on site, then you will progress rapidly as the corporate department continues to thrive.

    As an Audit Senior, you will lead projects and mentor junior staff members in line with progressing towards management of your own client portfolio once familiar with your client base.

    Remuneration and Benefits – Audit Senior:

    Audit and Assurance:

    Undertake Audit assignments as the in charge from planning through to completion. Direction and supervision of junior staff on audit assignments to ensure work is completed efficiently and in line with the audit plan. Research and conclusion of technical points in respect of financial reporting for review by Manager. Submit corporate tax returns and identify any tax planning opportunities where appropriate.

    Staff:

    Mentor, supervise and coach junior staff assigned and contribute to non-client work. Delegate tasks effectively. Review work of junior staff, ensuring quality in compliance with professional standards / requirements.

    Business Development / Client Management:

    Develop client relationships, including regular client contact by telephone, meetings and electronically. Awareness of business development including representing the firm at networking events. Play an active role in raising the profile of the business. Display a confident, accurate and reliable accounting knowledge when interacting with clients, presenting ideas and implementing strategies. Actively engage with senior staff / Partners to gain a good understanding of the business.

    Our client will consider someone from a smaller firm background with audit experience who wishes to increase this area of experience, or a finalist or newly qualified from an auditing firm that is looking for a swift promotion and increased responsibility.

    Senior Accountant – Salary up to £39,000

    AJ Chambers are currently representing a Top 100 firm who are seeking a Senior Accountant for their Ipswich office. This highly reputable and long-established firm offers excellent opportunities for progression and a generous remuneration package.

    We are looking to speak with a commercially minded accountant, with considerable statutory/management accounts experience. You may be qualified or qualified by experience, but you will be client focused.

    The Role

    As a Senior Accountant, you will be required to work closely and support senior members of the team in the timely delivery of services You will work independently and be accountable for the delivery of the project to the manager for review, being the first point of contact for our clients throughout the project In addition to accounting capabilities, you will analyse client data, make recommendations and talk credibly to clients on the issues they face such as current trading position, future outlook and legislative changes

    Day-to-day duties include:

    Review and management of management accounts process for individual and groups of companies to timetables agreed with client including if needed calculation of adjusting entries Preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP and other accounting frameworks Preparation of consolidations and cash flows for yearend statutory accounts Prepare year end accounting files ready for audit either by internal or external auditors Proactive analysis of client data and communication directly with client e.g. current issues, future trading, relevant legislative change Organises work efficiently to meet project deadlines and client expectations Network with clients, attending seminars and events

    The Candidate

    Strong experience in preparing statutory accounts and some experience within management accounts A minimum of 3-4 years\' experience gained within an accountancy or practice or similar professional services firm Excellent communication skills Demonstrate the ability to delegate duties to staff, sharing knowledge and providing guidance as needed
