The role
We are looking for a manager with recent corporate tax experience to join our fast-growing and dynamic Bristol office to provide direct support to the partners by managing the corporate tax affairs of an existing portfolio of primarily owner-managed business clients.

The mix of work will be varied as the client base is across a full range of business sectors, including property, innovation, farming, financial services, sport & entertainment and not for profit.In addition to the annual corporate tax compliance work, tax planning and advisory projects will arise as a matter of course across this diverse portfolio of clients. These will include areas such as group tax planning, property transactions, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, s455 tax and cross border transactions. The successful applicant will also work closely with the Director on stand-alone tax advisory projects, including structuring acquisitions and disposals, share based incentives, transaction support and due diligence. Tax accounting will also be an essential part of the role.

The role would also include responsibility for the supervision/review of work undertaken by the junior members within the team, including some staff responsibilities and work planning. The individual will in most cases report directly to the head of the corporate tax team and/or the client partner.

The ideal candidate will be pro-active and resilient. They will require recent practical experience in running a corporate tax portfolio and have a detailed up to date working knowledge of corporate taxation issues. In addition, they should possess the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.
