AJ Chambers are working with an well established Top 10 Practice, whom are currently looking for an qualified and experienced Audit Manager in thier Birmingham office.

As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for leading audits on a varied portfolio of clients, supervising Juniors, Semi Seniors and the wider Audit team. You will be ACA/ACCA Qualified, willing to travel and have previous experience within a similar role.

Key Responsibilities of an Audit Manager:

  • Planning Audits and identifying key risk areas.
  • Ability to ensure that all statutory requirements are complied with, and up to date technical knowledge.
  • Ability to ensure that client deadlines are met and to budget.
  • Experience of working on more complex aspects of audits.
  • Building strong client relationships and being a point of contact on advice for structuring, systems as well as source of relevant information.
  • Supervising the audit process on site, supporting and managing Audit Team in collaboration with Audit Director and Audit Partner, supporting and developing more junior members of staff.
  • Suggest improvements for audit efficiency and general process internally.



Essential Skills and Experience for this Audit Assistant Manager role:

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified
  • Previous experience in a Manager or supervisor role for at least 18 months
  • Well-rounded knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles
  • Experience working on Academy and Charity Audits.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to complete assignments within tight deadlines
  • Proven Experience in client handling and relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    Job Description

    Our Client is looking for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their highly successful team, and are offering a highly competitive remuneration package with full study support, plus a clear progression path within the fast-growing firm.

    You will be responsible for:


    Preparation of accounts (Sole Traders, Partnership and Limited companies). Review of accounts work done by more junior colleagues, prior to being reviewed by partners. Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts with supporting schedules and reconciliations. Preparation of corporation tax computations/CT600 and clearing any tax queries raised by tax specialists. Preparation of Self-Assessment personal tax returns to completion. Bookkeeping and VAT returns for Clients. Audit Work. Developing strong Client relationships. Liaising frequently with Clients and being their initial point of contact. Liaising regularly with HMRC on behalf of Clients. Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards.

    Person Specification

    The role will ideally suit an Accountant part way through their ACCA/ACA exams Strong computer skills required including Iris, Xero, Sage and QuickBooks, plus relevant Microsoft Packages.
