Senior Accountant, Business Services

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and bright accountant to join this close-knit team. The successful candidate will display a keen interest in supporting businesses, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency in data analysis for client needs. This role will involve managing a varied portfolio of clients across industries, necessitating the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and consistently deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts and cashflow forecasts.
- Handle VAT returns preparations and submissions.
- Oversee Year End accounts preparations.
- Review management accounts and VAT returns for trainees.
- Assist in the development of junior team members.
- Report key performance indicators and variances to clients.
- Liaise with HMRC.
- Contribute to ad-hoc tasks.
Experience, Qualifications, and Competences:
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in a Business Services Team.
- Highly motivated with a strong academic background, including a Degree or equivalent.
- Qualified AAT, ACCA, or equivalent work experience.
- Essential experience with Sage, Xero, and Dext; other software knowledge beneficial.
- Profound VAT knowledge.
- Strong business acumen and current affairs awareness.
- Essential skills in Management Accounts preparation.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
- Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Team player with the ability to work autonomously.
- Effective task management and deadline adherence.
- Client-facing capabilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
