Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and bright accountant to join this close-knit team. The successful candidate will display a keen interest in supporting businesses, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency in data analysis for client needs. This role will involve managing a varied portfolio of clients across industries, necessitating the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and consistently deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts and cashflow forecasts.
  • Handle VAT returns preparations and submissions.
  • Oversee Year End accounts preparations.
  • Review management accounts and VAT returns for trainees.
  • Assist in the development of junior team members.
  • Report key performance indicators and variances to clients.
  • Liaise with HMRC.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc tasks.

Experience, Qualifications, and Competences:

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a Business Services Team.
  • Highly motivated with a strong academic background, including a Degree or equivalent.
  • Qualified AAT, ACCA, or equivalent work experience.
  • Essential experience with Sage, Xero, and Dext; other software knowledge beneficial.
  • Profound VAT knowledge.
  • Strong business acumen and current affairs awareness.
  • Essential skills in Management Accounts preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Effective task management and deadline adherence.
  • Client-facing capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
