AJ Chambers have an exciting opportunity for a Rewards and Benefits Manager to join a top International Law Firm based in the City of London

Reporting to the Head of HR and working closely with the Chief People Officer. This role heads up the Reward team within HR so must lead the team to achieve the goals and outputs of the specialism.

Role and Responsibilities (this is a broad but not exhaustive list)

  • Provision of research-based reward data and analysis for the firm to aid decision making at Operational Committee.
  • Full understanding of key competitors in each area, within and outside law, and their approach to reward.
  • Work with the Chief People Officer to scope, design and implement the firm’s employee reward strategy and align reward appropriately.
  • Guide and advise the Business Partnering team to ensure that key messages are delivered and that reward decisions are consistent and fair across all areas of the firm.
  • Manage the Reward Advisor to ensure key messages, reward analysis and processes are compliant, accessible, and relevant to audience.
  • Manage the annual salary review and bonus processes.
  • Manage relationships, contracts and service level agreements with brokers and providers to ensure ROI.
  • Responsible for the annual renewal, benchmarking and day-to-day management of all UK and international benefits.
  • Lead on the annual budgeting process for HR collating the sub-team submissions as well as working with Head of HR of HR on headcount budget.
  • Input into projects where reward is a key.
  • Development and production of Reporting MI to aid decision making across the firm.
  • Completion and submission of salary survey and data requests e.g. gender pay reporting.
  • Work closely with the HR Systems team to educate wider team on data integrity.
  • Produce annual compliant Gender & Ethnicity pay gap reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven substantial reward experience as a Reward specialist, preferably in a legal or professional service firm.
  • CIPD qualified or relevant experience.
  • Ability to critically analyse current reward framework and suggest improvements / changes to ensure the firm  has a reward framework that supports our goals and objectives.
  • Experience of producing regulatory reports including gender pay gap.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and identify pragmatic, commercial solutions.
  • Experience leading functional or project teams with broad visibility.

Person Specification

  • Able to move between strategic reviews to hands on operational matters whilst retaining a high level of personal effectiveness.
  • Credible, articulate, as well as comfortable with systems, data, and analysis.
  • Be a key project member with the ability to guide the junior team members in terms of data quality.
  • Gravitas of experience and personal impact to advise the Senior team on recommendations.
  • Be willing to apply their knowledge and skills to the practical tasks required (application of benchmarking, annual pay, bonus, and employee benefit process with resulting MI).

The role will offer a salary between £80,000 – £90,000 with an excellent benefits package on top with hybrid working.
