Personal Tax Senior Manager – City of London – Up to £80,000

We are looking for a Personal Tax Senior Manager to join our vibrant and rapidly growing tax team

We are an ambitious, London based, top 100 firm of accountants and we are looking for an enthusiastic Personal Tax Senior Manager to join our growing Private Client tax team.   Joining us means you will be joining a very sociable vibrant office, with regular nights out and an inclusive culture.

The firm is led by a young and ambitious partner group who have demonstrated that rapid career growth is achievable for high performers and our team have recently won 2 British Business Awards for best Tax Team and Auditors of the Year 2023.

Your experience

You will either currently be a manager looking for a new challenge and looking to work with a firm that can match your ambitions.  ATT/ CTA qualified is desirable.  You must be currently a tax professional in a client facing role with at least five+ years experience dealing with complex compliance and advisory projects.

The role

We are looking for an senior tax manager to work with our existing tax team and partner group to work on a growing amount of advisory work.

You will have your own portfolio of clients as well as providing assistance with the oversight of the personal tax compliance function and liaising with our outsourcing team. The role will offer a varied range of advisory work, so previous exposure to advisory projects is desirable.

This is very much a client facing role which will involve a lot of client interaction so strong communication and client relationship skills are a must. This role offers progression for the right candidate.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates
  • Working on individual clients including entrepreneurs, city financiers and those with international tax issues.
  • Provide assistance to the PC director and partner group on advisory work, which could include:

o Inheritance tax

o Use of trusts

o Capital gains tax planning

o EIS/SEIS schemes

o Property taxes

o Enquiry work

o Residence and non-domicile planning

o Profits extractions

  • Working directly with partners and directors on their personal client projects and liaising with other teams to deliver results.
  • Seeking planning opportunities within the current client base
  • Assist with management of WIP, billing and debtors across the team
  • Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Technical research to provide possible solutions to complex tax issues

  • Working with senior members of the team to promote the tax team internally and externally

We are looking to recruit talented people, so will flex the role to utilise your skills rather than dictate what the role has to include.

Our team members must be willing to learn and develop in their role and at the same time be willing to share their knowledge with our growing team.

If that is you, please get in touch with us to discuss this opportunity.

Why join us?

Here you are not just a number on our payroll, you are not recruited via AI or online acquisition teams. We do not have a large HR department or acquisition team to interview you and onboard you.

We are an independent, partner-led firm. Our Partners hand pick every member of our team, not only for their professional qualifications and experience, but also their soft skills and ability to work with our clients in a way which reflects our core business values.

We are a close team here, everyone makes a contribution, and we celebrate the successes together. We are a people to people business and we are extremely proud of the people that make up the team.

Did we mention that we are also a multi award winning firm having recently won 2 British Business awards as well as Tax Advisory Firm of the year at the Parker Randall International network awards and in 2023, for the first time, we entered at 16th in the UK Corporate Advisor listings for Listed Business Audit firm.

What we offer in return…

  • A vibrant, “one-team” positive culture
  • Flexible working (flexible hours and hybrid working)
  • Excellent professional development and career growth opportunities for the right candidate
  • A list of benefits that would challenge even the larger firms (after a qualifying period)
  • Competitive salary (details available on request)
