We are currently working with a Top 10 Global Firm that has an exciting opportunity for a Client Project Manager to join their outstanding Outsourcing team in Milton Keynes.

This role will form part of a team of managers and coordinators responsible for implementing, monitoring, controlling, and managing multi-country, multi-service outsourcing arrangements. These services are delivered through both the firm’s global network of local office partnerships and the UK’s automated service delivery teams. This is a fast-growing business which is expanding rapidly and is a core component of the firm’s global growth strategy.

Activities of the team cover the bid, pricing, implementation, and delivery of these contracts. The team is the focal point in the UK and Europe for the management of all significant multi-country outsourcing arrangements, working with client relationship holders and with the Outsourced Services leadership in the UK and globally. The role demands the highly proactive management of multiple concurrent engagements and proposals and so requires exceptional organisational skills.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will take sole ownership of a portfolio of international clients with little day-to-day supervision from Partners or Directors.
  • You will manage and support the coordinator team working on your clients to ensure the delivery of full-scope compliance services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • You will maintain oversight of each client’s central mailbox and manage escalations from both clients and the coordinator team in line with agreed timelines.
  • You must resolve issues and problems proactively, escalating any significant client or internal issues that cannot be resolved to the Partner or Director leading the engagement with a suggested course of action.
  • You will build strong client relationships with a focus on driving new service opportunities for the UK firm and throughout the wider network.
  • You will perform line management duties for several team members. This will include personal development, objective setting, and appraisals amongst other everyday management duties.
  • You will monitor and manage conflicting workloads for junior staff and prioritise requirements to ensure all deadlines are met. Proactively delegate tasks to encourage the development of junior team members.
  • You will take ownership of weekly client calls to establish a close working relationship with your primary client contacts. Ensure all issues are tackled head-on with clients at the earliest opportunity.
  • You will proactively own the management of fees and billing across your portfolio. This should include ensuring timely billing, agreeing on scope work and fees, and managing recovery rates on your client projects. You will be accountable for the month-end WIP and provision results, and able to explain and justify the financial position of each of your clients.
  • You must actively own the risk management across your portfolio to ensure that client take-on procedures are completed, engagement letters are in place, and all department policies are followed to ensure compliance with internal risk protocols. Independently liaising with legal and risk management teams where necessary.
  • You will actively participate in the recruitment and induction of new joiners, including collation and review of CVs, holding interviews, providing feedback, and liaising with both internal and external recruitment teams.
  • You will own certain areas of team meeting agendas regularly and run team meetings where needed.
  • You will build a strong network of contacts across global firms.
  • You will own and drive improvement projects within the department, utilising junior staff to deliver quality improvements to improve service offerings, efficiencies, or practicalities of the day-to-day running of the wider team.
  • You will work with the department leadership to drive the pipeline of opportunities through the proposal stage to onboarding new clients. Take ownership of proposal pricing collation, proposal documentation, pitch content and participation, as well as managing the onboarding of new client wins.

  • You have had exposure to, and a broad understanding of, annual accounting and tax compliance reporting cycles.
  • You have strong IT skills, experience in computerised accounts production and intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • You are motivated to provide the highest quality service to clients.
  • You are solution-focused and can work well using your own initiative.
  • You possess excellent people skills.

Previous exposure to medical sector clients would be advantageous - but is not essential. To be suited to this role, you would need to be tenacious, thorough, with a self-motivated attitude, expert eye for detail and good organisational skills.
