AJ Chambers are working with a Leading Regional Advisory Firm, based in Central Cambridge, who are seeking an Assistant Manager to join their growing Audit and Accounts team.

What will your role entail?
- Fully accountable for the provision of audit and accounting services including corporate and personal tax returns and special services for a portfolio of clients with annual fees more than £100,000.
- Manage budgets and compliance processes.
- Preparation of budgets for accounts work.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, developing relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Play an active role in raising the profile of the business.
- Actively engage with senior staff / partners to gain a good understanding of the business.
- Attending local networking events as required.
- Monitor and encourage improvements towards standards of work via guidance, coaching and mentoring.
- Encourage / foster a culture of continuous development.
- Undertake appropriate training to ensure CPD criteria is met.
- Review and finalise client records, completed file sections and work programmes.
- Attend client’s premises and assist with audit when required.
- Review submitted Annual Returns and Companies House forms.
- Review work of junior staff, ensuring quality in compliance with professional standards/requirements.
- Ensure effective communication systems between management and staff are established and disseminated to all staff in the company to ensure coherence and a positive team spirit.
What is required to be successful?
- ACA or ACCA qualified, good pass rates and at least two years’ post qualification experience within a chartered accountancy firm.
- Demonstrate a passion for delivering quality and ensures that client needs are met, benefiting both the client and the firm.
- Define performance measures and continuously looks to assess, improve and achieve objectives.
- Thinks widely and laterally to identify and consider different options before determining the best solution.
- Sets priorities, defines activities, gives responsibilities and plans work so that results are achieved on time.
