AJ Chambers is delighted to be working alongside an excellent Law Firm that is looking for a Legal Secretary to join their Commercial Property team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all formatting, spelling and grammar are correct.
- Manage and coordinate diary and travel arrangements for lawyers within the commercial property team.
- Organize and maintain filing systems, ensuring that all documents are filed appropriately and are easily retrievable.
- Handle telephone calls, taking accurate messages and responding to queries where possible.
- Liaise with clients and external contacts in a professional and courteous manner, providing regular updates on progress where necessary.
- Conduct legal research as required, ensuring that all relevant information is gathered and presented in a clear and concise manner.
- Attend to general administrative duties, including photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
- Assist with billing and time recording, ensuring that all invoices are raised in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with the management of client files, ensuring that all documentation is up to date and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant legislation.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a legal secretary within commercial property, with a strong understanding of the relevant legal terminology and procedures.
- Excellent typing and transcription skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce high-quality documents and presentations.
- Ability to work independently, using initiative to problem-solve and manage tasks.
- Ability to work well under pressure, and to work to tight deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and to take on new tasks as required.
