Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing support on tax advisory matters for business owners, as well as helping them to meet corporate tax compliance deadlines
  • Detailed reviews of corporate tax computations on larger and more complex clients
  • Making claims for tax relief on more technical matters such as R&D and capital allowances
  • Supervision of more junior members of the team
  • Direct contact with clients, keeping them informed of progress on all aspects of the service provided, and anticipating their needs to enhance our offering
  • Recognise business development opportunities for selling services into clients
  • Build good rapport with clients, manage and meet client expectations

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of dealing corporate tax issues within an accountancy practice
  • Ambitious and dedicated individual
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain professional working relationships
  • Holds an appropriate Accountancy qualification (CTA is ideal, though not essential)
  • Experience dealing with R&D claims would be beneficial

    Understanding of and previous experience within corporate tax compliance, dealing with the annual tax return process of both small clients and those with a much more extensive number of assignees.     The Corporation Tax team are looking for a Semi-Senior who is confident with Partners and clients, possesses excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide accurate work in a timely and cost-effective manner. With this role come the pre-requisites that the candidate is motivated, committed and flexible, with the ability to meet deadlines.


    The Role

    A Tax Semi Senior/Senior (level of appointed will depend on experience of the applicant) is being sought to join and complement the Bournemouth tax group.


    The role will report directly to the Manager/Senior Manager and will involve assisting the team with the day-to-day responsibilities of managing a large portfolio of both personal and corporate clients.


    The corporate tax portfolio is made up of a number of medium to large companies with a variety of businesses, including a professional football club, property investment and development, manufacturing and E-commerce. The personal tax portfolio is made up of high net worth individuals, including company directors, self-employed individuals, small to medium sized partnerships and trusts.   The role will also provide the opportunity to gain experience on advisory projects.



    Preparation of corporation tax computation and corporation tax returns Liaising with clients on a variety of corporate tax compliance issues  Liaising with audit and accounts teams, and dealing with workflows between departments Involvement on advisory assignment including capital allowance reviews, R&D tax relief claims, share transactions and more Attendance and involvement on regular team meetings to further corporate tax team goals, and also those of the local office, and the firm as a whole.

    A fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified ACA / ACCA Auditor to join one of the largest Practices in the country, who can offer support and growth up to and beyond the completion of your qualification.

    The Role

    Carrying out Audits using a bespoke risk based approach for a range of clients across a variety of sectors including media, technology, property, hospitality and not-for-profit. Act as assistant on larger clients, completing relevant sections of the Audit file as discussed with Senior staff at the planning meeting. Acting as Senior on smaller Audits, reporting directly to the Manager. You would be responsible for planning the Audit file through to the completion sections. Role Description

As a Corporate Tax Supervisor you will report directly to our Corporate Tax Manager and Corporate Partner. You must have experience in and have detailed knowledge of all aspects of UK corporation tax and have a sound grasp of other business taxes to not only ensure clients are fully tax compliant but to also identify tax planning opportunities.

Exposure to international tax issues such as double taxation relief and double taxation treaties, Transfer pricing, thin capitalisation and CFC\'s would be ideal.

Alphatax, CCH Central, Caseware, Digita and Microsoft office software packages used. Knowledge and use of these packages would be beneficial.

Our corporate clients include a broad range of sectors and industries and include OMBs, entrepreneurial companies, larger corporates, multi-national groups, FSA regulated companies and AIM listed PLCs.

The objectives of the role

To help oversee and maintain the annual CT compliance service of a varied portfolio of corporate clients.


Along with those responsibilities mentioned above you will:

  • 75% Personal Tax/25% Corporate Tax split
  • Preparation of circa 860 Personal and Partnership Tax Returns
  • Preparation of circa 100 Employer P11D(b) Returns
  • Preparation of circa 600 Corporation Tax Returns
  • Corresponding with HMRC on behalf of clients, both written and on telephone.
  • Role is Assistant to Tax Manager (currently one assistant, this role will expand to two assistants to the Tax Manager)
  • Support provided by both Tax Manager and Tax Partner
  • Study support provided for ATT and/or CTA qualification
  • Ideally minimum 12 months experience in personal Tax, although would consider applications from someone with 12 months accounting experience but wishing to move into a more tax focused role.
