A leading independent practice based in Dartford are looking for an ACCA/ACA Qualified Client Manager to join their growing practice. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a portfolio of clients whilst supervising juniors and reviewing their work.

Duties:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients (sole traders, partnerships, limited companies)
  • Managing a busy team, ensuring the efficient preparation of accounts
  • Reviewing accounts work completed by junior colleagues
  • Corporation tax and income tax computations
  • Management Accounts
  • VAT Returns
  • Providing advice to clients
  • Travelling to client premises as required

Skills Required:

  • ACA or ACCA Qualified; QBE will be considered
  • A minimum of 5 years' practice experience

    ACA/ACCA Qualified Experience supervising and coaching junior members of staff on site. Working knowledge of International Auditing Standards (IAS), IFRS, UK GAAP Working knowledge of firm services, issues regarding advice, and regulation and compliance, including anti-money laundering.

Responsibilities

Job/Workflow & Technical Management

  • Ensure the implementation of all relevant client outsourcing work ensuring effective team workflow
  • Arrange & lead planning meetings as required
  • Ensure completion of processing for clients in other managers/senior manager/director portfolios

  • Prepare bills and monitor WIP for director/partner/manager to review as required

Client, Internal and External Organisational Contact

  • Act as a key point of contact for nominated clients so as to manage all their outsourcing requirements
  • Attend client meetings as required
  • Return phone calls and written correspondence to all of the above within required deadline and ensure promises are kept
  • Attend review and close down meetings for others£ clients as required
  • Conduct handover meetings as required
  • Ensure client hygiene factors are in place, AML, KYC reviews, engagement letters etc

The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, with a keen eye for detail, and should have at least 2-3 years\' experience in an accountancy practice.

The role is open to both Qualified and Qualified by experience individuals, and the firm are happy to consider part-time or hours based around school runs.

Duties:

  • Day to day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts and quarterly VAT returns for a portfolio of clients
  • Setting up new clients on the bookkeeping system and registering VAT schemes with HMRC
  • Ensure the year end files are complete with back up schedules to support balance sheet figures
  • To handle bookkeeping enquiries on a day to day basis and know when to escalate the problem to your line manager to ensure they are kept fully up to date

Requirements:

  • Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
  • Experienced bookkeeper with a good knowledge of the VAT rules on what can and cannot be claimed
  • Previous experience of working in an £outsourced£ finance function where regular contact is needed with both the client and their suppliers and customers managing all aspects of the day to day bookkeeping including managing the accounts in box, purchase and sales ledgers, credit control and bank reconciliations
