AJ Chambers are pleased to be working alongside a leading independent, growing firm, based in St Albans, who are seeking a Corporate Finance Executive to join their growing successful team.

The Role:

This new position of Corporate Finance executive would suit someone proactive & ambitious to join the high performing and supportive Corporate Finance (CF) team in St Albans. This new position of CF Executive is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious Practice, working with business owners, management teams and private equity firms on transactions valued from £1m up to £50m. The ideal candidate will be a newly or recently qualified individual who is eager to make a move into Corporate Finance. You may, or may not, have any experience of Corporate Finance, but what is key is a desire to progress and own your career and show an interest and enthusiasm in people and business. You will work closely with the team and gain experience in the work we do with business owners and leaders, working principally on company sales, management buy-outs and private equity fundraisings. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a commercial and proactive mind-set whilst working collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Analysing financial statements, management information, financial forecasts, and market intelligence
  • Preparing key client deliverables including Information Memorandum and financial models
  • Undertaking research on potential buyers, market trends, comparable transactions, and potential new clients
  • Managing and acting as deal leader on smaller transactions.
  • Attending client meetings and working closely with the Partners and Directors.
  • Developing deal insights for marketing purposes
  • Managing initiatives in targeting and winning new business
  • Preparing competitive bid proposals and formal presentations
  • Maintaining an appropriate network of peers in intermediaries, banks, and private equity houses.
  • Other ad-hoc consulting assignments, especially with regards due diligence.
  • Carrying out other duties as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the role

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Fully qualified Accountant
  • Awareness of full M&A cycle.

    Senior Finance Assistant

    We are delighted to be working with a family-owned and highly reputable commercial vehicle restoration business with three sites across Essex and Kent.

    They are currently looking to add a Senior Finance Assistant, on a full-time basis, to their current team of three. The role will mainly focus on Bank Reconciliations and Sales Ledger, however, there will also be exposed to the wider aspects of the finance function. The role will report directly to the Financial Controller and will be office based at the premises in Grays, Essex.

    Your Responsibilities

    You will be posting bank receipts and payments, and reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit cards across the Group of Companies. You will manage and reconcile the sales finance accounts. You will be posting and full reconciliation of intercompany loan accounts. You will submit sales invoices and statements to customers and manage customer relationships, assisting with arising queries. You will complete credit checks and set up new customer accounts. You’ll provide ongoing support to the Financial Controller.

    Your Skills and Experience

    You are a confident user of Microsoft Excel (Essential), Outlook and Word. You have excellent communication skills, with previous exposure to working with external parties. If you have experience using Sage 50, this would be highly beneficial. You have excellent organisational and time management skills. If you are AAT Qualified, this would be preferred.

    Remuneration and Rewards

    Up to £35,000 Base Salary (Negotiable dependent on skills and experience). 20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays. Standard Pension Scheme. Free Parking on-site.
