AJ Chambers are working with a Top 20 firm in Central London who are looking for an Audit Manager to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working on the firms largest and listed clients, helping to achieve a high standard of client service in an effective manner. While the firm works with a range of clients within multiple industries, they have strong links to the mining and energy sectors
  • The firm is increasingly getting involved with cross-office projects, working with colleagues across the country and more globally through their international offering
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, meeting the needs of the clients while maximising the fee income of the portfolio
  • Effectively manage resources and the workflow in conjunction with the management team
  • Ensure that all audits are conducted in line with the firm’s agreed audit approach
  • In liaison with the client Partner, identify, plan and perform other advisory work for clients
  • In liaison with the other team Managers ensure, as far as possible, that trainees are allocated a variety of jobs to provide a broad range of training and maximise their experience, and that all clients are serviced effectively
  • Deal with day to day staff issues, with an emphasis on coaching, mentoring and development of trainees, qualified staff and team Admin staff
  • Complete job assessment forms, 6 monthly appraisals and sign off training records for all allocated members of staff
  • Actively contribute to the team’s business development activities in line with the team’s strategy

The Ideal Candidate

  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent)
  • more than 3 years post qualification experience is preferred, gained in a practice environment
  • Up to date in CPE and recent developments in accounting standards
  • Experience of OMBs covering a range of industries with a focus across accounts, advisory and audit work
  • Management/supervisory experience - the ability to motivate, delegate effectively, develop the team and be a strong leader
  • Organisational skills - the ability to juggle a number of different tasks at once
  • Diplomacy and patience
  • Team focussed with a strong interest in building and developing the team
  • Analytical thinking/problem solving
  • Calm and effective under pressure
  • Manage change in a positive way

    registered and unregistered freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, mortgages/re-mortgages, transfers of equity (including matrimonial conveyancing), lease extensions, new builds, assignments of off-plan contracts, shared ownership and Right to Buy transactions.

    Candidates will need to be c5 years PQE but a client following is not essential for the role.

    £20,000 - 25,000

    A medium sized Law Firm based in the West End has clear expansion plans and is looking to grow the Private Client team with an experienced Paralegal.

    Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in that area but they would also consider a NQ for this role, with market salary to reflect.

    As a Private Client Paralegal you will be specialising within a wide range of estate administration work, grants of representation, distribution of estates, inheritance tax returns, applications for probate, liaising with the private property team, collating capital gains tax information and drafting income tax returns.

    This is a new, currently small, department who are looking for support for the current fee earner with a view to building/expanding so this is a graet time to join the practice.
