Job Description
You will be a member of a growing corporation tax specialist team focusing on providing pro-active corporation tax services to a wide range of clients operating in the Financial Services sector. You will need to be client facing and show willingness to work as part of a team and be able to meet deadlines. You will play a key role in achieving the Financial Services strategy for the tax department.
General Summary
Working with tax partners to provide a timely, accurate and robust service on tax advisory projects across of all areas of business tax including the following:
o Structuring and re-organisation (design and implement)
o International matters (including transfer pricing projects)
o Group tax matters
o Leading the tax teams on due diligence work
o Venture capital tax reliefs (EIS/SEIS reliefs)
o Shareholder remuneration and exit planning
– High level review of compliance work and assistance with reviews where additional resource required
– Assisting with hot review of compliance work on high risk clients and advisory work on high risk project
– Technical research and reporting on legislative changes, article writing, assisting with newsletters and other marketing literature
– Identifying tax efficient opportunities for clients and liaising with partners on implementing those opportunities
– Responsible for managing billing and work in progress on project work
– Training and development of the business tax team
– Assisting with developing and enhancing advisory processes & procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk (for example producing templates)
– Some line manager duties on staff working on advisory work and assisting with the appraisal process
– Scope to develop the firm’s first advisory only team
– Providing expertise advisory work in particular areas such as reporting fund status, permanent establishment queries
– Complex structuring advisory work for new funds and or fintech businesses.

Work-Based Competencies
- Specialist expertise within the Financial Services sector
- Experience working with hedge funds clients, as well as Private Equity/Venture Capital exposure
- Has previously managed a client portfolio including groups;
- Ideally be CTA/ACA qualified;
- Good Microsoft skills, outlook, excel, word; and
- Alpha tax knowledge preferred.
