This is a well-known local firm of Accountants situated in Essex. They offer a full range of accounting services to their clients, who include sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies.

Working as part of a small and friendly team, your key duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparing accounts
  • Tax computations
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Preparing personal and corporate tax returns

    Role Overview

    You will work as part of the established Corporate team based on a mixed portfolio of clients across a range of industries/sectors which will see you performing the accurate and efficient processing of client accounting information. Manager - Benefits Package:

Purchasing & Stock Control Accountant

AJ Chambers are delighted to be exclusively representing and a forward-thinking international business based in a beautiful modern office in Loughton, Essex.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the company is recruiting for a Purchasing and Stock Control Accountant. The role will have broad responsibility for the purchase and stock cycle for our Clients growing international business.

The successful candidate must be able to work under their own initiative taking responsibility for the role. Must be a good communicator and a team player with a can-do attitude.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for managing the purchase cycle from order to receipt of material at the warehouse.
  • Posting of purchase orders and purchase invoices onto the accounting system.
  • Liaising with logistics/contract management as to order status.
  • Arranging payment for suppliers by suitable agreed means such as bank or trade finance.
  • Ensuring correct paperwork in place for payment with trade finance.
  • Booking in material and weight/quality adjustments on the company£s bespoke stock system.
  • Stock system management, reconciliation, and valuation.
  • Monthly margin analysis and other ad-hoc finance and commercial reports from the stock and purchasing systems.
  • Assisting the Finance Director on other reconciliations and reporting as required.

Key skills required:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an Accounts role is essential.
  • Sage50 Accounts multicurrency is essential.
  • AAT qualified or ACCA/ACA Part Qualified is preferred.
  • Experience of working in an international import/export business is advantageous.
