AJ Chambers are working closely with a reputable, long-established firm of chartered accountants in Colchester that are looking to appoint an Audit and Accounts Senior, to lead the firms largest corporate audit projects and grow towards Manager status and beyond.

Our client recognises progression is extremely important to capable staff and are keen to reward with a clear pathway and generous remuneration package as outlined below. Whilst our client is ideally looking for a qualified ACA/ACCA audit professional, if you are part qualified or qualified by experience with recent audit experience, your application will still be seriously considered.

Audit and Accounts Senior – Core Responsibilities:

  • Audit planning, review and undertaking audit work on all aspects of the profit and loss and balance sheet.
  • Ensuring the audit and accounts file is complete and ready for review by Manager or direct Partner as required.
  • Preparation of more complex statutory accounts including consolidated group accounts and IFRS accounts.
  • Review of assistant team members\' work, identifying training needs, and providing both positive and constructive feedback.
  • To follow Practice procedures including but not exclusive to budgets, accounts preparation processes, workplan and Digita trackers.
  • Commercially aware in terms of undertaking tasks and preparing accounts and audit in a cost-effective manner.
  • Training and development of other team members in a supportive manner.
  • To carry out any other duty which may be required in line with business requirements.

    Administration of all stages of payroll processing for a portfolio of outsourced payrolls, including scanning information and monitoring the payroll processing cycle to ensure that information on payroll spreadsheets is maintained and kept up-to-date at all times. Ensuring that all information for payrolls is made available for processing by outsourced payroll providers. Preparation of letters, payroll reports and payslips for submission to clients.     This is a position that can be adaptive to your expertise. In essence it is mixed, so wide knowledge is required. However, if you have certain strengths in certain areas, but are not as well versed in others, there is the freedom to tailor a portfolio around this. Your role within the firm will have a strong degree of autonomy, you will however have access to several junior members of staff who you will delegate work to. You will report directly to both the tax director and the partner.
